The 20-tonne Kato vehicle ploughed into a parked car beforecrashing into the house on Lynholmes Road, Matlock, at 8.15amyesterday.Stunned home-owner Jacqueline Fletcher (52), a grandmother of two,said: "I was just coming back from work when I saw the wall go andthe lorry crash into the house. I couldn't believe it."There was nobody in the house when the jib of the crane smashedinto the wall just above the lounge window, causing structuraldamage.The driver, who had taken evasive action after realising hecouldn't stop the crane as he drove down the steep hill a 14per cent gradient into Matlock, escaped unhurt and there wasnobody in the car the crane hit.
